Development of a "Mobile" Identity
The team behind the Rekono and Rekono.Sign services has many years of experience in information systems, information security, public key infrastructure, and system integration solutions. Drawing on this expertise, we developed the Rekono solution, which creates new opportunities in e-business for service providers and end users. The solution was built using the latest security practices and complies with the guidelines of the EU Regulation on electronic identification and trust services (eIDAS), which took effect in the EU on July 1, 2016.
Electronic commerce offers many possibilities and raises important questions when selecting the most appropriate solution. It is essential to determine the required level of authenticity and reliability for e-identity and electronic signatures. If unequivocal proof is needed that “a person is who they claim to be,” a suitable and fully trustworthy solution must be chosen.
At Rekono, we followed the eIDAS Regulation guidelines in developing the Rekono solution, aiming to provide a technologically open and secure service that meets current security standards and protocols. We strive to enable its use across a wide range of services with varying requirements for identity level, mechanisms, and business processes. Thanks to its broad range of authentication mechanisms and adaptability to the specific needs of individual services, the Rekono solution can be tailored to different services and business requirements.

The Rekono service enables the unification and centralization of authentication and authorization services for enterprise IT environments, external web services of the company, as well as cloud-based services. Rekono establishes an environment for a unified digital identity with centralized management of user logins, user permissions across applications, an audit trail of data access, and a reporting system.
Rekono supports various authentication mechanisms, ranging from username and password, one-time SMS codes, hardware TOTP one-time password tokens, mobile authenticators for one-time codes, to digital certificates stored on any medium.
