Payment confirmation and other Rekono services

With a REKONO account, you can quickly and, above all, securely perform many activities related to verifying your identity online. In practice, this means that with Rekono services you can remotely sign electronic documents, confirm payments, and securely use services of other providers that require reliable and secure user identity verification for access (such as online banking services, insurance services, etc.).

For all these activities, the Rekono ecosystem of services is available to you, offering various functionalities and enabling secure online operations. Each service has its own specifics that need to be well understood in order to fully leverage their benefits.

REKONO Account

Rekono account registration is the first step toward secure online operations

Once you register your account (the process is very simple and detailed instructions are available), you can manage your personal data in the Rekono system dashboard, which you access by logging in with your Rekono account (e.g., change your contact phone number, update your name, activate additional features of your Rekono account).

A basic Rekono account offers a low level of identity assurance

For a low level of trust in a user’s Rekono account, identity verification based on checking external registers using data provided by the user is sufficient. This level of assurance provides limited confidence in the user’s claimed identity and thus reduces the risk of misuse or identity manipulation.

Low level of identity assurance

A low level of identity assurance allows the user to perform certain activities in some cases (e.g., accessing electricity consumption data). It is always up to the service provider to determine which level of assurance (level of trust) is sufficient for their service. However, if service providers require a higher level of identity assurance, it must be upgraded to a medium or high level.

Medium level of identity assurance

You can obtain a medium level of identity assurance by registering your Rekono user account using an existing qualified digital certificate or a valid combination of the PAN and PIN of your bank-issued payment card, which was issued after the bank verified your identity remotely, without your physical presence. You can also confirm your identity through an external provider whose procedure has been certified by a conformity assessment body as being equivalent to physical presence.

High level of identity assurance

Rekono OnePass

Rekono OnePass application for logging into an online banking application

The Rekono OnePass application enables easier and faster access to your Rekono account and the use of services offered by the Rekono system. Its main advantage is fast two-factor authentication based on push notifications, the generation of one-time passwords for login confirmation, and the signing of electronic documents.

The Rekono OnePass application therefore enables easier and faster access to your Rekono account, its use and management, as well as access to other Rekono services.

To use the Rekono OnePass application, you must first create a Rekono account. After that, you can use it for quick access to your account information, OTP passwords, and application settings, which you can customize according to your preferences.

Rekono 3D Secure

The Rekono 3D Secure service enables secure authentication of online purchases at e-commerce checkout points.

It is available to users via the Rekono OnePass mobile application or the alternative Rekono SMS OTP service.

To use any of the mentioned services, as a payment card holder you must first create a Rekono account and then enter your payment card details in the application for a bank that supports Rekono services. This increases the level of identity assurance to a medium or high level.

If you want to use the service for secure authentication of online purchases, you can activate it in the Rekono OnePass application or in the dashboard of your Rekono user account. You activate it by entering the number of one of your payment cards (PAN) from a bank that supports Rekono services and the corresponding personal identification number (PIN) in the relevant fields within the application or dashboard.

Online payments

You can confirm online payments in two ways: by using the Rekono OnePass application, which generates one-time passwords (OTP – One-Time Password), or by receiving push notifications for authentication.

If you do not wish to use the Rekono OnePass application, you can still use the 3D Secure service. In your Rekono account, you can create a password for confirming online payments, and as an additional security step, you can confirm the payment with a one-time password received via SMS.

By using this service, you protect your banking data and prevent hackers from stealing your account information or charging your card for purchases you did not make.

Document signing with the Rekono Sign service

Document signing online is now even simpler and more secure with the Rekono Sign and Rekono Seal services. Like other Rekono services, both are linked to your Rekono user account, so no additional login is required.

Rekono Sign is used for signing documents, while Rekono Seal allows you to apply a digital seal to documents.

Since the Rekono Sign service is linked to your verified personal data, it ensures the undeniable authenticity of your digital signature. In contrast, older practices such as using basic digital signing tools or printing, manually signing, and scanning documents do not provide a sufficient level of security in case of disputes or doubts about the authenticity of the signature.

Additionally, signing documents with Rekono Sign is much faster and simpler, as you upload the document to the Rekono system and sign it in just a few clicks. The number of electronic signatures is not limited, and thanks to the system’s strong security mechanisms, there is no risk of exposing your personal data.

To ensure the highest level of authenticity of your electronic signature, you need to increase your level of identity assurance.

This will allow you to sign documents with a qualified electronic signature, which has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature and is therefore the most secure and reliable way of signing documents.

If your Rekono account provides a medium or high level of identity assurance, you can remotely create:

  • a qualified electronic signature;
  • an advanced electronic signature;
  • an advanced or qualified electronic seal;
  • an advanced or qualified electronic timestamp.

Additionally, you can verify the validity of an electronic signature or seal.

More details about the levels of assurance required for using Rekono services can be found in the General Terms and Conditions..
